Creativity and innovation in the spotlight
The world-leading trade fair IWA Outdoor Classics rewards the special achievements of exhibitors in the field of cutlery every year. In 2023, Laguiole en Aubrac stands out with a new creation: the Bee-Back knife, which wins the first prize in the Innovation category of IWA.
The Bee-Back is a knife with character created by one of our cutler : Pierre MARTIN. Its design is modern, characterized by sharp angles on the blade and handle. Its unique and special feature is the blade locking system, which is activated by tilting the bee at the back of the knife.
For the exhibition, the knife was special, made with an Elmax Super Clean blade, two spacers in carbon fiber and a bi-material handle featuring mother-of-pearl and sea foam. The knife was finely handcarved on the spring and central bolster.
